Born and raised in Swakopmund, Silke brings a wonderful blend of Namibian roots and international experience to the Namibia Tours & Safaris team. After completing her schooling on the coast, she headed to Germany where she undertook her Ausbildung in Konstanz on Lake Constance, while also taking the opportunity to explore Europe extensively.
Silke spent eight years working at the Sheraton Frankfurt Airport Hotel and Frankfurt Airport Marriott Hotel, where she rose to become Guest Relations and Guest Service Centre Manager. This experience sharpened her eye for detail and her passion for delivering seamless, memorable guest experiences – something she now channels into crafting dream holidays for her clients.
Now back home in Namibia, Silke lives in Swakopmund with her fiancé (imported from Germany, as she puts it) and her dachshund, Theo. She has travelled widely across Europe as well as Southern Africa, giving her a well-rounded perspective on what makes a trip truly special.
Her favourite places in Namibia include the dramatic granite peaks of Spitzkoppe, the haunting beauty of Kolmanskop, and her family farm at the Waterberg. Further afield, she has a soft spot for Tuscany in Italy.
Silke loves both ends of the travel spectrum – from luxurious lodges to adventurous self-drive safaris – and especially enjoys the process of organising unforgettable journeys for others. One of her favourite safari memories is sitting quietly in Etosha as a herd of around 200 zebra moved past her vehicle – a moment of pure, uninterrupted wilderness.
Outside of work, Silke enjoys reading, gardening, interior design, cooking, and spending time in nature – often with a true crime podcast or documentary on in the background.
