Margot-Mae van Rensburg

Margot-Mae van Rensburg

Margot-Mae's favourite destinations:

The desolation of the Skelton Coast and the endless dunes of the desert in Sossusvlei. The vast nothingness is beautiful beyond words.

Favourite lodges:

Namib Outpost and Shipwreck Lodge

Favourite itinerary:

The 16 Day Classic Namibia. It includes all the main highlights of Namibia from the south to the north.

Best memory on safari:

While not quite on safari, a fond memory will be the many family trips along the Skeleton Coast and camping at Torra Bay every December since as far back as I can recall.

Favourite travel quote:

“Travel. As much as you can. As far as you can. As long as you can. Life’s not meant to be lived in one place.” ~ Unknown

Her story...

Margot-Mae might have grown up on a small farm near Grootfontein and on another near Aranos in the Kalahari, but meeting her you’d never say she was a “plaas meisie”*. Get to know her and you’ll soon see it’s such a huge part of who she is. Something about the wide open spaces, quiet living and being one of seven siblings.

With a background in marketing, a self-proclaimed mediator (which comes with being part of a large family), many travels and tales to tell, Margot-Mae makes an excellent travel expert. She’s organised, easy to communicate with and well-rounded with heaps of experience and a genuine passion for travel.

After completing her school education in Stampriet of the Kalahari, Margot-Mae took a gap year, studied Marketing Management at Boland College in Stellenbosch and then went on to au-pair in the Netherlands. Her travels took her to Thailand, Mozambique and South Africa, but no matter how far she ventured, she always knew she would return home. By chance she started working in tourism and go figure, fell in love with travel planning.

Margot-Mae is an outgoing, daring and adventurous soul who loves to be out and about experiencing new things. Hiking, photography and planning her next escapade top the list, but she also loves reading, painting and cooking, especially if it’s delving into foreign cuisine.

Although a homebody, Margot-Mae will tell you travelling was and always will be the best decision she’ll ever make. In her travels thus far, she discovered not only a whole new world, but also herself. It’s how she also knows luxury is more her travel style. “If you’re on holiday, make the most of it.”

With Margot-Mae planning your itinerary you can be assured it’s everything you ever dreamt of and more. Going that extra mile is part of it. “Every holiday you embark on should be the best you’ve ever had.” Agreed.
