Kaylee Zandberg

Kaylee Zandberg

Kaylee's favourite destinations:

Definitely the remote and absolutely breathtaking areas of Kaokoland, but I also love Etosha for wildlife encounters and the Caprivi which is just so different to the rest of the country.

Favourite lodges:

Okonjima Bush Camp, Chobe Safari Lodge and Khowarib Lodge (where I spent so much of my childhood).

Favourite itinerary:

The 16 Day Namibia, Chobe and Victoria Falls Safari

Best memory on safari:

Camping in the Hoanib River and spotting a rhino close-by and more recently having a large elephant bull pick our camp in Nxai Pan for a lunch time nap in the heat of the day. Both incredible sightings in incredible places.

Travel tip:

Try something new and get out of your comfort zone. This is where you find unique and once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

Best kept travel secret:

Less is more. A great holiday isn't built off of cramming a lot into one itinerary and barely having the time to enjoy it. Take a step back and give yourself time to immerse yourself in it.

Favourite travel quote:

"So much of who we are, is where we have been." - William Langewiesche

Her story...

Born in Swakopmund, Kaylee spent much of her childhood growing up in the bush. Which makes sense since her dad, Caesar Zandberg, is Namibia’s “Indiana Jones”. If anyone has seen almost all of Namibia, it’s Caesar and much of it was with Kaylee and her siblings in tow over the years.

“There’s nothing quite like the static silence of Namibia’s remote wilderness beneath a bewildering night sky as you doze off after a day of adventure.”

One part Namibian and one part German (on her mother’s side), Kaylee left the country to travel abroad and live in Germany for six years after school, but she knew she would return and it was a no-brainer it would be to work in the tourism industry.

After a short stint at another well-known tourism company in Namibia, Kaylee joined our team and a delightful addition she is. She’s friendly and efficient, speaks English, Afrikaans and German fluently and this, along with her studies in hospitality and experiences of the country, makes her an asset we’re glad to have.

Outside of travel, Kaylee loves to go swimming, horse riding, to cook and enjoy a sundowner overlooking the sea. All pleasures possible living at the coast and just some of the reasons why she's happy to live in Swakopmund.

She always says, "Exploring Namibia never gets old" and we couldn’t agree more. Namibia is a country of diversity in every aspect from landscapes to wildlife, culture and more.

“There's so much to do and see. Every time you travel.”
