I love the Caprivi. It’s so different to the rest of the country and there’s incredible wildlife and birdlife. Next on the list has to be the desert in Sossusvlei and the abundance of game in Etosha National Park.

Favourite itinerary:

The 16 Day Namibia, Chobe and Victoria Falls Safari as it includes multiple nights along the Caprivi ending with more wildlife in the Chobe National Park and the incredible Victoria Falls which is a highlight for sure.

Her story...

Claudia has training as a hairdresser and diplomas in Motion Picture Design and Early Childhood Development. She was once a teacher, school principal, surf school manager, surf coach and tour guide in Europe but with her roots in Namibia and travel in her veins, it’s no surprise she just simply can’t stay away from the beauty of Africa and finds herself in tourism.  

Claudia loves to travel which is just another reason why she makes an excellent travel planner and a great fit at NTS. For her it’s all about putting it together for a client, the same way she would for herself. Travel is personal for Claudia and working with her to plan a holiday to our remarkable part of southern Africa is no different.

Having grown up in South Africa, from Johannesburg to Cape Town she later relocated to Windhoek in Namibia and well, really that’s the beginning of the end of it. No matter how far she travelled in pursuit of different careers over the years, returning to Namibia was a given. Now based in Swakopmund, she’s doing what she loves along with the rest of us at NTS – planning adventures to explore one of her all-time favourite places in the world – Namibia.

Surfing, hiking, yoga and spending time out in the open, are all some of Claudia’s most cherished pastimes, which not only makes Swakopmund a great place to live but Namibia her playground. She enjoys jet-setting overseas but would happily explore more of Namibia, especially if she can take Nash (her dog and best friend) along.

Of the places she’s been and there are many, Russia, Switzerland, New Zealand and Japan top Claudia’s bests. None more than the endless desert landscapes of Sossusvlei, the wildlife in Etosha and the luscious wetlands of the Caprivi in Namibia though. Each so special for different reasons and each worthy of a visit.

When travelling, Claudia likes to mix it up and combine luxury with camping and sleep-outs under the stars. Including both in one trip allows each to be appreciated to the fullest. It’s all about the experience and Claudia knows first-hand that is comprised of location, activities and accommodation offering.

Claudia understands that ‘the best holidays are the ones enjoyed’ and we couldn’t agree more. It comes down to the finest of details and the smallest of differences.
