Founded by Marc Pampe, who wanted to recreate his childhood memories of idyllic farm-stay holidays, and his wife Mariza, Nooishof was brought to life as an intimate rural destination for guests between the south of Namibia and Sossusvlei. The former owners of Mushara lodges in Etosha started the small guest house with only 4 suites to offer travellers a personalised and intimate stay that feels ‘relaxed, unobtrusive and restorative’.
Comfortably furnished and equipped, the spacious suites provide easy access to a deep shaded stoep – with mesmerising views of the surrounding wide-open spaces. Watching the light transform the landscape with the rising and setting sun, from stark and shimmering to soft pastel-coloured hues, is one of the highlights of a stay here.
Offering a homely farm feel, guests enjoy shared access to the Ouma House, where they’re welcomed with wholesome farm-style cuisine, prepared from scratch with fresh ingredients from the kitchen garden. A handful of staff is on hand to assist with any request, all while keeping an atmosphere of ease, comfort, and privacy.
Nooishof’s setting combines warm hospitality with wildlife and nature experiences to create a sense of wellbeing and reconnection with nature. Wake up to a pre-dawn coffee on the Ouma House stoep before setting off on a nature drive, or on foot or e-bike – on your own or with Marc or activity host Nakale – to explore the spectacular landscape and catch glimpses of grazing herds of game and local birdlife. Days are for relaxing by the pool or retreating to a tucked-away nook with a good book, before the late afternoon nature drive to yet another scenic viewpoint to toast the setting sun.
