Veronica's favourite destinations:

Although they are so very different from one another, I love both Spitzkoppe in Damaraland and the Okavango Delta.

Her areas of expertise:

Travel in Namibia as a whole. Customer service is a big part of it all for me.

Favourite lodges:

There are simply too many to choose from, but if I have to pick a few, it would be any of the lodges on the private Ongava Reserve, especially Anderssons at Ongava and Okonjima Bush Camp.

Favourite itinerary:

The 16 Day Namibia, Chobe and Victoria Falls Safari. Covering three countries in one holiday in just over two weeks, it's just surreal!

Best memory on safari:

Having a herd of elephants pass in front of my car and watching a calf roll around in a pool of rainwater in the middle of the road right in front of us, just having fun playing around. It was an amazing experience! Something I will never forget.

Travel tip:

Pack for all types of weather, but travel light.

Best kept travel secret:

Don’t be constantly focused on capturing everything through a lens. At every new destination take a moment to just breath in and savour the moment that is right in front of you.

Her story...

Veronica was born in Tsumeb, close to the eastern side of Etosha, and grew up in her mother’s home town of Swakopmund, along the coast. She spent many holidays in South Africa (where her father grew up) and, along with  camping trips in Namibia, this is really where it all began. Veronica loves to find herself in the bush, beneath the stars around the campfire as night sets in, although if it now comes with a tented camp and a little luxury on the side, even better.  

After completing matric, Veronica went to au-pair in Germany for a year. During this time she took every opportunity to travel. Returning to Namibia she found herself working in the hospitality industry in Swakopmund for two decades before she decided to change it up and went travelling abroad for a year to Australia, Europe, the UK and South Africa. Back to Namibia, she went back into the hospitality industry again for a further six years and now she is putting her years of experience, expertise and love for travel to good use as part of our dynamic group of travel experts.

Veronica has been lucky enough to travel to some far off places around the world including Mauritius, Madagascar, Thailand, Zanzibar as well as Spain and Italy. Sicily and Prague feature high on the list of her all-time favourites, yet somehow none beat home.
