Waylon Zandberg

Born in Swakopmund and raised in the coastal town of Melkbosstrand, Cape Town, Waylon’s connection to nature and travel runs deep. With over 15 years of experience in the tourism industry, Waylon has worked in various fields, from tour operations in Namibia’s rugged Kaokoland to conservation at Neuras Wine and Wildlife Estate in southern Namibia. His expertise lies in guiding, field operations, and providing guests with unforgettable travel experiences in some of Namibia’s most remote and untouched regions.

Waylon is the eldest of five siblings, with a family deeply rooted in the tourism sector, including lodge ownership and tour operations. His journey into tourism began after working at a renowned wine farm in Stellenbosch, where he honed his skills before returning home to Namibia to build a career in one of the world’s most demanding yet beautiful environments. His vast travels have taken him to over 20 countries, including Angola, Thailand, Hungary, and Prague, but his heart remains tied to the wild beauty of Namibia’s northwest and the Caprivi region.

A lover of the great outdoors, Waylon’s ideal holiday involves immersing himself in nature—whether it's camping under the stars or navigating off-road trails. When guiding, he shares his deep passion for both people and nature, ensuring that each client feels connected to the land and its creatures.

Waylon's favourite safari memory? A close encounter with a male leopard who casually wandered through his family’s campsite in the Caprivi, a moment of serene yet thrilling beauty. His top travel tip is simple: hydrate, stay present, and soak in every moment.

When he's not guiding, you’ll find Waylon exploring new places, attending live music events, or enjoying quality time with his family. His goal is to provide guests with magical experiences, one kilometre at a time.
