Born in Waterval Boven on 1 April 1963 and raised in Bethal, Vince has always had a love for wide-open spaces and the outdoors. After completing two years of compulsory military service, he earned his degree in Marketing Management before embarking on a career in the banking and mining industries. His work brought him to Swakopmund in 1985, where he quickly fell in love with Namibia’s wild beauty and began travelling the country extensively.
Married to Belinda since 1985, Vince is a proud father to three daughters – Bernardine (now in New Zealand), Zilke (Frankfurt) and Nicole (Johannesburg) – and grandfather to two grandsons. Though he’s travelled abroad to New Zealand, Germany, Hong Kong and Mauritius, Vince insists no destination compares to Namibia.
His passion for guiding began in 2015, initially part-time while still working in Business Development Management in the mining sector. Upon retiring in 2023, he embraced guiding full-time, finding joy in meeting fascinating people from around the world and discovering corners of Namibia even he had never seen. Whether leading guests through the dramatic landscapes of Damaraland, the coastal charm of Swakopmund, or deep into the bush, Vince’s enthusiasm is contagious.
When not on the road, Vince and Belinda run a coffee bar in Swakopmund. He enjoys escaping to Palmwag whenever possible, sometimes “roughing it” in the bush – though Belinda prefers a touch of glamping comfort. Off-duty, you’ll find him on the golf course, tending his garden, travelling locally, or spending time with friends and family.
Our guides are exceptional human beings one and all. Their love of people, country, history, flora, fauna and a jolly good time is entirely contagious and their professionalism, expertise and trustworthiness will set your heart at ease from the moment you leave the arrivals terminal.
