Not unlike many others who find themselves in the world of guiding, Sebastian grew up on a farm in the south of Namibia. A pretty dry place with immaculate landscapes and a surprising abundance of life (in a nutshell describing Namibia as a whole).
All it took was his young inquisitive mind and he stepped into a world he still revels in discovering some decades later. It may have started on a small farm with a dusty road, but it’s a love affair still ongoing. There are few things Sebastian loves more than being in the bush, tracking animals and exploring Namibia’s endless landscapes on foot. He’ll take to Namibia’s dusty roads any day and if he can take you along, even better.
For the past 10 plus years, Sebastian has dedicated his life to being a tour guide and a good one at that. Southern Africa has been his playground. Join him around the campfire and he’ll tell you all about it. It’s a fascinating journey of wildlife encounters and places that leave you humbled. Best yet, he’ll take you to experience it for yourself. They say “seeing is believing”.
Sebastian loves sleeping out under the stars. Jolly good because the night sky is amazing from just about anywhere in Namibia. He’ll happily point out the constellations. You’ve never seen a sky so bright. In his own words: “It’s mind blowing” and we couldn’t agree more.
He’s fluent in English and German and his specialties are conservation, animal behaviour and cultural history. The honest truth though is that he loves everything safari and anything Namibian so you’ll be left amazed at both the wonder of the country and his impressive guiding skills along with his pleasant demeanour. By Namibian standards, we’d call him a ‘happy chap’, on tour however, we’d call him a VERY ‘happy chap’.
Our guides are exceptional human beings one and all. Their love of people, country, history, flora, fauna and a jolly good time is entirely contagious and their professionalism, expertise and trustworthiness will set your heart at ease from the moment you leave the arrivals terminal.
