Simbavati River Lodge

Kruger National Park

This riverside retreat offers a relaxed setting for both families and couples.

Please note: Our review of this property has not yet been added. Watch this space. We're working on it.

As a tailor-made tour operator, we often have to get creative when designing your perfect itinerary.

For example, your travel consultant might add this property to your itinerary if:

Location is a significant factor
It offers a unique feature that will enhance your experience
This is a last-minute booking and room availability is limited
Cost is a factor and you'd rather splash out on another part of your trip
This is a newly opened or refurbished property that we have not inspected yet

When designing your custom itinerary we have much to consider not least of which is the value proposition of every product and service included in your quote. In all cases we strive to give you the best experience possible within your budget so please feel free to ask your travel consultant to share their reasons for including this property in your itinerary.

Situated on the banks of the Greater Kruger National Park's Nhlaralumi River in the Timbavati Private Game Reserve, Simbavati River Lodge is a relaxed hideaway with 11 rooms.

A thatched lounge area flows onto an open deck, with a boma to the right, and a flood-lit watering hole below. A popular destination for herds of elephants, guests are in a prime position to observe them while they drink and cool down in the refreshing waters.

Leading off from the lounge to the left are 3 two-bedroom Family Chalets, each with a main bedroom and second room with twin beds. Sharing a bathroom and game viewing deck with riverfront views, the chalets are perfect for families travelling together. They’re also in close proximity to the pool and ‘Cubs Club’ Kids Room, allowing for easy access from your chalet.

With a private deck and plunge pool, outdoor shower, and river or bush views, the 6 Luxury Safari Tents are ideal for couples. For complete privacy, book one of the 2 Tented Pool Suites – tucked away at the far end of the lodge, they come with an outdoor rain shower and solar-heated plunge pool.

When not on game drives, guests can cool off in the pool, enjoy meals on the deck, and retreat to the gym and spa – while younger safari-goers can go wild in the children's discovery centre and play room.
