Set deep within a vast private concession in the Okavango Delta, &Beyond Xaranna offers an exclusive and tranquil safari experience on its own secluded island. Overlooking a seasonal lagoon, the camp is surrounded by a mosaic of waterways, floodplains and woodlands, creating a peaceful setting where game viewing begins right from camp.
With just 9 spacious tented suites dotted along the water, Xaranna feels intimate and refined. Each suite blends canvas, pale timber and soft drapery to create a cool, airy atmosphere inspired by the Delta’s water lilies. Floor-to-ceiling openings invite the outside in, while private plunge pools, outdoor salas and al fresco showers add a sense of romance.
The central guest areas maximise sweeping Delta views. A relaxed lounge and reading area flow into an elevated dining space and shaded veranda, while evenings are best spent around the firelit boma beneath a canopy of stars.
Wellness is an integral part of the experience, with a ‘gym-in-a-basket- available in all rooms, massages in your room or the tented spa sala, and nourishing cuisine designed to restore balance. Children meanwhile can join &Beyond’s WILDchild programme, featuring immersive activities to keep them engaged.
Set off on thrilling game drives, board a traditional mokoro straight from the lodge’s private jetty (water levels permitting), or discover the finer details of the bush on guided walks. Guests can also enjoy seasonal catch-and-release fishing, as well as birding and photography. Unique experiences such as bush brunches, community visits through &Beyond’s Wild Impact initiatives, and behind-the-scenes sustainability tours offer deeper insight, while scenic helicopter flights showcase the intricate waterways of the Okavango Delta from above.
At Xaranna, sustainability is closely tied to low-density tourism, strong conservation partnerships and carefully managed environmental impact. Solar power, low-density design and raised structures help minimise its footprint on the Delta, supported by water-wise operations and effective waste management. Located within a private concession, it contributes to wildlife conservation while supporting local employment and broader environmental initiatives.
