Please note: Our review of this property has not yet been added. Watch this space. We're working on it.

As a tailor-made tour operator, we often have to get creative when designing your perfect itinerary.

For example, your travel consultant might add this property to your itinerary if:

Location is a significant factor
It offers a unique feature that will enhance your experience
This is a last-minute booking and room availability is limited
Cost is a factor and you'd rather splash out on another part of your trip
This is a newly opened or refurbished property that we have not inspected yet

When designing your custom itinerary we have much to consider not least of which is the value proposition of every product and service included in your quote. In all cases we strive to give you the best experience possible within your budget so please feel free to ask your travel consultant to share their reasons for including this property in your itinerary.

Singita Castleton is tucked away in the privately owned Singita Sabi Sand reserve within the Sabi Sand Nature Reserve, adjacent to Kruger National Park. Spanning more than 45,000 acres, Singita Sabi Sand is renowned for its high concentration of wildlife and birds– with thrilling leopard sightings a highlight of games drives.

Designed as an exclusive-use lodge for up to 12 guests, the stone-walled homestead and 6 double ensuite cottages offer a private safari homestead for families and friends, complete with private staff including a field guide, chef, and host.

Imbued with nostalgic references, Castleton combines the most refined elements of a private safari lodge with the rustic charm of a country farmhouse. The lodge captures the spirit and history of the original camp, with understated interiors featuring refashioned antiques and furnishings that blend tartans and faded botanical-print fabrics with leather and wood. Expansive living spaces extend outdoors onto deep, furnished verandas overlooking tree-shaded lawns, a large pool, and an often-frequented watering hole.

Located a short distance from the main house, guests bed down in 6 double ensuite cottages, 2 of which have interleading doors – making them perfect for families with young children. Guests can enjoy,  an extensive wine cellar and country-style kitchen to Bocce and tennis courts. You’ll also find state-of-the-art wellness facilities, such as a fitness centre, yoga pavilion, and double and single massage treatment rooms.

An outdoor boma with uninterrupted views of the surrounding landscape allows for magical fireside dinners under the stars – you’ll be warmed by the crackling fire as you recount the day’s adventures and sightings, gaze up at the stars and tuck into traditional local dishes.

Guided safari walks are available for guests 16 and older, while conservation activities include the option to prebook a visit to the anti-poaching canine unit to meet with one of the senior dog handlers and observe the highly trained dogs. Back at the lodge, the kitchen is the heart of the home, and guests are invited to participate in informal cooking or baking sessions and share meals at a large table in the heart of the home, or on the covered veranda.
