Raised above the Khwai River’s floodplain, you’ll find African Bushcamps’ Khwai Lediba within the private Khwai Community Concession in the northern Okavango Delta. The concession borders the iconic Moremi Game Reserve – the first wildlife sanctuary to be established by an African tribe on their ancestral land.
A permanent water source that is renowned for its diverse wildlife population – including lions, leopards, elephants, and giraffes – the Khwai River and its surrounding lagoons, grasslands, acacia forests, savannahs and mopane woodlands offer great wildlife encounters year-round.
The lodge comprises 5 luxury tented suites, 1 luxury family tented suite with interconnecting bedrooms and 1 luxury tented luxury honeymoon suite with a romantic outdoor bathtub – perfect for a long soak under a starlit sky. Each suite comes with indoor and outdoor showers, as well as a private deck for optimal views of the African bush.
The central lodge area unfolds beneath leadwood and sycamore canopies: a raised pool terrace, shaded lounge, and open-plan dining pavilion, all rendered in natural tones that echo the riverine palette.
Mornings are measured in soft light during a post-game drive alfresco breakfast. Daytime ambles might lead to cooling swims in the pool or quiet time in the reading nook, followed by an afternoon game drive and drinks around the communal firepit.
Set off on thrilling morning, afternoon, and night game drives, as well as guided walking safaris, seasonal birding excursions, and water excursions across the Khwai River aboard a traditional mokoro canoe (depending on water levels). Guests also have the opportunity to visit the nearby Khwai village preschool, as part of the African Bush Camps Foundation's community empowerment project, and can book scenic helicopter flights.
