“Thank you once again for everything - we’ll definitely be back.”
This 16-day self-drive safari took a couple on a wide-ranging journey through Namibia, travelling by Fortuner from Windhoek south to the Fish River Canyon, before looping north through the Namib Desert, Damaraland and on to Etosha.
The southern section offered dramatic scenery and a sense of adventure, including a memorable (and good-humoured) detour near the Fish River that became part of the story rather than a setback. From there, the route shifted into classic desert landscapes, followed by a coastal pause in Swakopmund before continuing north.
Highlights included the striking scenery and wildlife of Mowani Mountain Camp, excellent game viewing in Etosha, and the contrast between Etosha Oberland and Onguma Tented Camp. Ending at Otjiwa Mountain Lodge provided a relaxed final stop before returning to Windhoek.
Carefully paced to avoid rushed driving days, this self-drive balanced variety with comfort and independence - a trip shaped by Namibia’s landscapes and the freedom of the open road.
