Set in the heart of the Sabi Sand Nature Reserve, Boulders takes its name from the ancient granite formations that dot the landscape. Immersed in this raw, elemental beauty, the lodge’s design is at once contemporary and holistic, blending seamlessly with its surroundings.
Inspired by the textures, tones, and shapes of the wilderness, the lodge flows between open living spaces, shaded decks, and tranquil nooks. Curated art collections and artefacts reflect a deep connection to local culture and craftsmanship, while the use of natural materials ensures a harmonious relationship with the lodge’s setting.
The 12 suites, including 2 Family Suites, each offer complete privacy, with sitting rooms, heated plunge pools and game viewing decks that overlook the river or bushveld beyond. Expansive glass walls frame ever-changing views, while inside, natural furnishings made from fossilised tree stumps, slabs of solid stone, wrought iron and leather are balanced with soft sheep-skin rugs, natural flax bed linen, and cloud-like cotton towels. These subtle layers of luxury blend Africa’s soul with high design to ease guests into the tranquil rhythm of safari life.
In-between game drives, take a refreshing dip in the main pool or your private plunge pool, practice yoga on your deck, and indulge in a massage in the wellness centre or the comfort of your suite – with sound therapy also available on request.
Dining is seasonal, thoughtful, and immersive, with menus celebrating regional flavours and local ingredients. Complementing the cuisine is Singita’s celebrated wine cellar – considered one of the finest on the continent – with bespoke tastings and expert pairings available. The spacious cellar at Boulders is built around massive boulders and is a treat for wine lovers.
Twice-daily game drives, led by some of the most experienced guides and trackers in South Africa, reveal the wildlife-rich terrain of the Sabi Sand, with opportunities to see abundant wildlife and the region’s famed leopards. Sunset game drives continue after dark with spotlights, while guided safari walks offer a chance to learn and connect with the bush at ground level. Additional experiences include wine tastings, stargazing, and community visits. You can also prebook to meet the anti-poaching team and canine unit. Younger guests can take part in the Mini Rangers Course to learn about bush survival skills, tracking, birding, and enjoy interactive nature challenges.
