A brand new addition to Botswana’s safari scene

Please note: Our review of this property has not yet been added. Watch this space. We're working on it.

As a tailor-made tour operator, we often have to get creative when designing your perfect itinerary.

For example, your travel consultant might add this property to your itinerary if:

Location is a significant factor
It offers a unique feature that will enhance your experience
This is a last-minute booking and room availability is limited
Cost is a factor and you'd rather splash out on another part of your trip
This is a newly opened or refurbished property that we have not inspected yet

When designing your custom itinerary we have much to consider not least of which is the value proposition of every product and service included in your quote. In all cases we strive to give you the best experience possible within your budget so please feel free to ask your travel consultant to share their reasons for including this property in your itinerary.

Here’s a new, fence-free camp in Botswana that promises classic touches, contemporary luxury and chances to see some of Africa’s greatest predators.

The 2026 season will be the first in the history of this new camp, located in the Chitabe Private Concession just to the south of the Moremi Game Reserve, one of northern Botswana’s most wildlife-rich areas.

There are just 3 tents here, so only ever a maximum of 6 guests at any one time. That qualifies this camp as exclusive in our book, and makes it ideal for block booking all three tents.

The look and feel of camp are inspired by the safaris of a century ago, with a fair share of contemporary comforts, of course, including solar powered lighting, hot water and Starlink Wi-Fi.

Three tents only

Inside each of the trio of tents, either a super-kingsize bed or twins awaits, depending on your preference. The ensuite bathroom has two showers, two wash basins but just the one flushing toilet. A fan will keep things cool, plug sockets make charging your devices easy, and there’s Wi-Fi, so you can stay in touch with the outside world during your stay. Speaking of outside, your private veranda will offer an excellent angle on the surrounding landscape, which is likely to be regularly visited by wildlife.

A simple and open main tent with butler service

All guests will no doubt be drawn to the communal central area with an open-sided, canvas roof tent providing a place to dine and drink under shelter or out in the open as you prefer. Expect to discover a decent range of drinks in the help-yourself bar, and also expect to feel spoilt as there’s a butler service in camp.

To get a Pel’s owl view of the landscape, you can book a helicopter sightseeing flight with the camp team. It’ll cost extra but is likely to give you unforgettable memories of your visit, not to mention some amazing photos.

Activities

Predators of the calibre of lion, cheetah, leopard and wild dog are known to prowl the surrounding reserves. Expert rangers will take you out and off-road in a 4x4 to find them. You’re advised to get on board for a day safari and a night time excursion to increase your chances of seeing the widest range of wildlife – lions tend to hunt after dark.

Walking safaris are also offered in areas less likely to contain predators, and more likely to get you close to giraffe, kudu, and a huge variety of insect, lizard and bird species. If you’ve never seen a grey-headed kingfisher or Pel’s fishing owl in the wild before, here’s your chance.

The waterways around here are either permanent or seasonal, meaning trips out on canoe-like mokoro to see hippo, crocodile and other water-based wildlife depend on the time of year.
