Pebble Stone House is a bright contrast to the spectrum of brown offered by the Namib Desert no matter which direction you arrive from be it south from Sossusvlei east from Windhoek or north from Damaraland or Etosha. Multi-coloured pebbles and vivid Namibian paintings bounce off neutral-coloured backgrounds and light pours in from windows everywhere you turn.
Small, intimate and well-priced, Pebble Stone House is a friendly and personal alternative to the hotel world and your host, Marijana, will go out of her way to book restaurants, activities and make recommendations for what to do, what to see and where to go in and around Swakopmund and Walvis Bay.
Pebble Stone House has just six rooms so your stay is guaranteed to be personal and intimate. Rooms are all en suite and can be configured for double or twin stays. Each room has its own entrance patio leading onto the garden walkway. Ceiling fans take the heat off the air if you happen to be in Swakpomund during the fabled East weather and all rooms are beautifully decorated with a bright and breezy brush and come with satellite TV, mini-bar, complementary tea and coffee, free wi-fi, an electronic safe and a hairdryer.
Breakfast is in the converted garage and Marijana will ensure you have dinner reservations and activities lined up for the duration of your stay.
While holidaying in Swakopmund there are a number of activities you can enjoy like taking a leisurely stroll around the city and looking at the special architecture of this traditionally German town, like Woerman House, which is a large decorated tower constructed in 1905 and now houses the public library and the reservation office of the Ministry of Environment and Tourism. Other local sites worth visiting include the museum, the handicrafts market located in front of the lighthouse and the Kaiserliches Bezirksgericht building, as well as the Kristall Gallery.
If you want something that's more adventurous there are a variety of activities to choose from including exploring the Namib Desert, dolphin cruises, birdwatching in the Walvis Bay lagoon and range of adrenaline activities like skydiving, paragliding, quad biking and sandboarding.
