The lodge is 70km from Windhoek and another 45km from the international airport making it an excellent mid-point between your long haul flight and a long drive.
The lodge is built around large acacia trees with a lush lawn covering the ground between the 22 thatched en suite rooms and the all-Namibian lapa - an open-sided thatch building where all of your eating, drinking and relaxing takes place. All rooms have ceiling fans, bedding, towels, soap and complimentary tea/coffee. Décor is rustic with traditional African crafts, earthy colours and tiled floors.
The pace of life is relaxed and informal at Okahandja Country Hotel. The swimming pool is large, cool and inviting; meals are often cooked on an open fire and taken in the open-air boma by the light of campfire. Your hosts Bianca and Ikus can arrange bush barbecues, and water-skiing and sundowner cruises on the Von Bach Dam nearby.
The lodge is about an hour's drive north of Windhoek en route to Etosha and the northern attractions of Namibia; it is situated at the turn-off to Swakopmund and the Skeleton Coast.
