The Elegant Farmstead

The Elegant Farmstead

Please note: Our review of this property has not yet been added. Watch this space. We're working on it.

As a tailor-made tour operator, we often have to get creative when designing your perfect itinerary.

For example, your travel consultant might add this property to your itinerary if:

Location is a significant factor
It offers a unique feature that will enhance your experience
This is a last-minute booking and room availability is limited
Cost is a factor and you'd rather splash out on another part of your trip
This is a newly opened or refurbished property that we have not inspected yet

When designing your custom itinerary we have much to consider not least of which is the value proposition of every product and service included in your quote. In all cases we strive to give you the best experience possible within your budget so please feel free to ask your travel consultant to share their reasons for including this property in your itinerary.

At the Elegant Farmstead the owners have combined some of the original look and feel to the "farmhouse" whilst giving the interior elegant and modern touches.

The lovely garden of trees, shrubs and lawn combined with the sparkling pool just invites one to relax and enjoy the African peace. Relax outside in a lounger or in one of the comfortable lounges.

The Elegant Farmstead is a large game farm about 70km from Windhoek near the town of Okahandja. At this point the road divides into northbound, heading for the Waterberg, Etosha and the Caprivi; or westbound towards Swakopmund, Damaraland and Kaokoland.

Even though not a game reserve, the farm is home to a wide range of wildlife such as kudu, springbok, oryx, giraffe, waterbuck, eland and jackal, to name just a few. Start your safari early with guided game drives and nature walks; end the day on a scenic game drive with sundowner drinks on Signal Hill overlooking the vast swathe of land that is Namibia and its enormous open skies.

A large carnivorous dinner is served in the "lapa" - a the thatched open-air dining room - where you can choose from a range of superb South African wines, local venison and fresh farm produce.

The Elegant Farmhouse is a great first or last night stopover on your Namibia safari holiday. About a 90-minute drive from the airport, it gives you plenty of time to relax and enjoy the first or last of the great African landscapes without having to bother with the bustle and traffic of Windhoek.
