Set on a private stretch of land along the Mbudi River, a quiet tributary of the Khwai, owner-run MmaTsebe offers an intimate safari experience away from the busier areas of the Okavango Delta. Bordering Moremi Game Reserve and surrounded by mopane woodland, the camp provides access to some of Botswana’s most celebrated wildlife regions, with game drives exploring both Moremi and the Khwai Concession. Accessible by road, Khwai Airstrip is a 30-minute drive away.
At the heart of the camp is an expansive canvas-covered deck overlooking the evergreen river. Designed as a place to slow down between activities, it features repurposed furniture and locally inspired textiles, and comprises indoor and outdoor dining and lounge areas, a bar, and a small pool with adjoining sun deck. The nearby boma serves as a gathering point for early morning coffees and evening nightcaps beneath the stars.
Accommodation consists of 9 Meru-style ensuite tents tucked amongst the trees along the riverbank. Each tented suite features a shaded veranda overlooking the surrounding wilderness, canopy beds draped with mosquito nets, ceiling fans, flush toilets, and unique log showers with hot water.
Following a day of game drives and water-based activities, guests can look forward to flavourful dining experiences, inspired by local ingredients and traditions, enjoyed either privately or in the company of fellow travellers.
Game drives explore both the Khwai Concession and neighbouring Moremi Game Reserve, offering diverse wildlife encounters throughout the year. Year-round Mokoro excursions along the Mbudi River provide a quieter perspective of the Delta’s waterways, while private bush dinners can be arranged. Scenic helicopter flights to Tshodilo Hills reveal the Okavango from above, and the full-day Sitatunga’s Edge experience combines a boat safari through Moremi’s waterways with exceptional birding, photography, and wildlife viewing opportunities.
