At Tintswalo Safari Lodge, your thatched suite sits immersed in the bush. From the deck, your private plunge pool and even the shower, you have bush views. The suites are spacious and subtly decorated.
This all-suite luxury safari lodge is a mix of old world colonial charm and elegant modernity. It’s regal and sophisticated yet understated and modestly ornate, if that’s even possible? Well if it is, they’ve got it spot on here. Tintswalo is a classic safari lodge that has been elevated in all the right ways and with just enough accents before it starts tipping the scales on going over the top. It’s beautiful. The lodge and the reserve.
The Manyaleti Private Game Reserve is spectacular with the bush changing from riverine to lush marshes, hills and open savannah plains. Varied landscapes means great game viewing. There are 147 species of mammals here. 517 species of birds and there are plenty fish species, reptiles and amphibians. You’ll get to see the Magnificent 7 – the Big Five plus cheetah and wild dog. On any game drive you’re almost guaranteed to have the sighting all to yourself.
It takes a Kruger National Park safari to a whole new level. You’ll fall in love with the lodge and the quiet untouched wilderness of the surrounds. Isn’t that the point of a safari holiday? Oh and of course there’s the incredible game viewing and we won’t forget to mention the spa. You’re welcome.
Game drives are done on the Manyaleti Private Game Reserve in open safari vehicles. Go early morning or in the late afternoon heading into a night drive by spotlight. You’ll have a ranger and a tracker. Sightings are phenomenal. They’ll even provide ponchos if it gets wet and blankets for the chilly mornings and evenings.
Stargazing. Manyaleti in Shangaan means ‘place of stars’. Enough said.
Go on an interactive bush walk with your Shangaan ranger. Learn of their culture and traditions. Be on the lookout for wildlife.
There’s a special children’s activity program (for those staying at the Presidential or Grant Suite). Off you go. Off they go. You can share experiences later.
Visit the Manyaleti Community where all the lodge staff live. It’s an informal excursion. Meet their families, view crafts in the making, visit the local school or the sangoma (traditional healer)
A three hour excursion will take you to see the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre (HESC) and Cheetah Research Project. Feed wild dogs and vultures. This is conducted in vehicles with the HESC guides.
Meet a world famous hippo. Yes that’s right you can actually meet her. Her name is Jessica. She lives near Hoedspruit, about an hour’s drives from the lodge. Take a photo with her. Not many people can say they’ve taken a picture with a hippo. Most people wouldn’t dare get that close. Jessica is one of a kind.
Go hot air ballooning, take a full day excursion and do a Panorama Tour or visit Mariepskop.
