Sterrekopje Healing Farm

Sterrekopje Healing Farm

Please note: Our review of this property has not yet been added. Watch this space. We're working on it.

As a tailor-made tour operator, we often have to get creative when designing your perfect itinerary.

For example, your travel consultant might add this property to your itinerary if:

Location is a significant factor
It offers a unique feature that will enhance your experience
This is a last-minute booking and room availability is limited
Cost is a factor and you'd rather splash out on another part of your trip
This is a newly opened or refurbished property that we have not inspected yet

When designing your custom itinerary we have much to consider not least of which is the value proposition of every product and service included in your quote. In all cases we strive to give you the best experience possible within your budget so please feel free to ask your travel consultant to share their reasons for including this property in your itinerary.

In the foothills of the Franschhoek mountains, Sterrekopje Healing Farm is a 50-hectare retreat centred on rest, regeneration, and a closer connection with nature. Dating back to the 17th century, the farm has been thoughtfully restored as a biodiverse sanctuary where regenerative farming, holistic wellbeing, and creative pursuits form part of everyday life. More than 100 varieties of indigenous and heritage plants are cultivated on the farm, while gardens, lakes, and mountain views create a peaceful setting just outside Franschhoek.

Accommodation comprises 11 individually designed sanctuaries and suites, divided into three categories and spread out across the Cape Dutch-style main building and scented gardens. Mixing dusty pinks with warm earthy tones, each features antique four-poster beds and draped canopies, one-of-a-kind artworks and wall murals, handcrafted furniture, and carefully chosen fabrics – all inspired by the owners’ global travels.

Located in the historic Main House, the Intimate Sanctuaries are cosy rooms with private terraces overlooking the gardens. The Abundant Sanctuaries, set either in the main house or dotted among the farm and gardens, are more generous in size and include private terraces and living areas. Scattered around the Main House, the elaborate Rejuvenating Suites feature expansive living rooms, spa-like bathrooms, and large private terraces or gardens. All suites have king-size beds with a choice of 100% Italian linen or 1,000-thread Egyptian cotton, separate roll-top baths and walk-in showers, and Sterrekopje's own natural bath products.

The historic main house forms the heart of the farm, with an open kitchen, bakery, dining table, and sun-filled orangery. Meals are freshly prepared using seasonal ingredients grown and harvested on the farm, alongside locally sourced produce, and can be enjoyed in different settings around the property.

Starting with a welcoming foot treatment ritual on arrival, wellbeing is seamlessly woven into the experience. The Bath House and Herbal Apothecary offer intuitive treatments and rituals using herbs and plants from the farm, while the Yoga Yurt, Soul Shed, and Atelier provide spaces for movement, creativity, and reflection.

Your stay is fully inclusive of meals and beverages, daily Bath House rituals, and the farm’s group activities. While aimed at adults, the farm hosts special family retreats during major school holidays.
