Boschendal Farm

Boschendal Farm

Please note: Our review of this property has not yet been added. Watch this space. We're working on it.

As a tailor-made tour operator, we often have to get creative when designing your perfect itinerary.

For example, your travel consultant might add this property to your itinerary if:

Location is a significant factor
It offers a unique feature that will enhance your experience
This is a last-minute booking and room availability is limited
Cost is a factor and you'd rather splash out on another part of your trip
This is a newly opened or refurbished property that we have not inspected yet

When designing your custom itinerary we have much to consider not least of which is the value proposition of every product and service included in your quote. In all cases we strive to give you the best experience possible within your budget so please feel free to ask your travel consultant to share their reasons for including this property in your itinerary.

Stretching out across 2,200 hectares at the foot of the Simonsberg, Boschendal is all about a scenic Winelands setting, farm-fresh food and outdoor living – with a multitude of activities both for overnight guests and day visitors.

The farm offers various accommodation options in one- to four-bedroom cottages – the Werf Cottages right on the farm, and the more tucked away Orchard Cottages across the road. The modern dwellings come with fully equipped kitchenettes, outdoor dining areas for braais, and a large communal pool and boma with picture-perfect views of the surrounding mountains and fruit orchards.

For multi-generational getaways, the historic Cottage 1685 sleeps up to six people in the cottage and four people in the garden annexe, while the Mountain Villa accommodates up to 12 people and features a large wraparound terrace, pool, private lake, outside bar area, braai, and pizza oven.

Taking a soil-to-fork approach, Boschendal’s restaurants celebrate the bountiful, seasonal produce of the farm and the Franschhoek Valley. Whether you choose the Deli or the more refined The Werf Restaurant, most of what’s on your plate will have been sustainably grown at Boschendal, or ethically sourced from local farms. For relaxed dining, you can also book a picnic and recline under the trees of the Pavilion lawn, pick up supplies from the Farm Shop & Butchery, or order a barbecue box for a leisurely braai on your stoep.

Activities

Boschendal is the perfect base for outdoor enthusiasts. From daily guided farm and garden tours to numerous hiking, biking, and running trails, plus guided horse rides, there’s something for every interest and skill level. Younger guests meanwhile can go wild at the farm’s Tree House, an adventureland for young farm explorers aged 5 to 14, complete with a supervised ‘eco-edutainment’ outdoor experience programme. Wine tastings, an onsite art gallery, and a Friday Night Market during the summer months complete the idyllic stay – with further wine farms to explore right on your doorstep.
