Please note: Our review of this property has not yet been added. Watch this space. We're working on it.

As a tailor-made tour operator, we often have to get creative when designing your perfect itinerary.

For example, your travel consultant might add this property to your itinerary if:

Location is a significant factor
It offers a unique feature that will enhance your experience
This is a last-minute booking and room availability is limited
Cost is a factor and you'd rather splash out on another part of your trip
This is a newly opened or refurbished property that we have not inspected yet

When designing your custom itinerary we have much to consider not least of which is the value proposition of every product and service included in your quote. In all cases we strive to give you the best experience possible within your budget so please feel free to ask your travel consultant to share their reasons for including this property in your itinerary.

If you want maximum wildlife sightings with minimal people getting in the way of your views, choose Simbambili.

There’s an 18 guest limit in camp at any one time (all adults as no children are permitted here). Each is likely to have booked a safari in the hope of seeing as many animals in the wild as possible, ideally the Big 5.  And it’s here that Simbambili Game Lodge has many advantages over other safari locations in South Africa. That’s because it’s situated in an area of Greater Kruger National Park that’s renowned for its dense population of predators and the Big 5, with leopard especially prevalent.

That’s what draws people from all over the world to this Moroccan-themed destination in the northern reaches of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve close to the Manyeleti River.

Go Big 5 spotting

The guides and trackers based at the lodge know this part of Kruger like the proverbial back of their hands. These experts will take you out on eye-opening and informative game drives and bush walks. They’ll even join you around the firepit in the evenings to share more stories and insights. Each experience will give you memories to take home and savour for the rest of your life.

Facilities for everyone

The main lodge is where you’ll eat, drink and rub shoulders with fellow lodgers. It’s perfectly positioned overlooking a waterhole. What does that mean? Only the chance to see warthog, antelope and elephant herds drinking from close range from the comfort of a chair.

For even quieter times, find a comfy nook in the library. For splashing times, the outdoor swimming pool is the place to go. And when it’s pampering time, head to the spa, perhaps after a session in the gym.

When it’s meal time, expect high quality food that’s fresh and varied, and enjoy it in the dining room or boma. How about a homemade pizza fresh out of the oven, or a barbecue fresh off the grill?

In the evenings, wash down your meal with a sundowner from the bar, sipped while sitting down somewhere overlooking that watering hole.

9 suites with savannah views

There are nine air-conditioned thatched suites at the lodge with views of the riverbed and woodland. Common to all nine are kingsize beds, ensuite bathrooms with shower, and a veranda with plunge pool. Also outside, a Sala bed from which you can gaze in the shade at your sunny surroundings and tick off the different kinds of wildlife as you see them.

The two suites located furthest from the main camp are designated the Waterhole and Honeymoon suites respectively, offering even more space and privacy.
