Once an old farmhouse, now a spacious and comfortable safari house offering an exclusive stay. Your own chef. A private guide and private vehicle. Total flexibility to tailor your schedule. Your very own adventure in the privacy of your own ‘home’ just a 10 minute drive from Safarihoek Lodge.
Ideal for families and small groups of up to 6 people, this is the ultimate private location on the Etosha Heights Reserve. A reserve founded in 1999 that borders on the southern side of Etosha National Park for 65km. That’s 600 sq km of pure African bush and wilderness. Once a hunting reserve, this is now a place of conservation and home to many species of animals including white and black rhino.
Secluded. Private. And safe since you’re fenced in. This is a grand and luxurious place to find yourself in the ‘middle of nowhere’. Unpretentious yet high-end, your stay contributes towards all conservation projects and even the small donation for use of the WiFi goes towards anti-poaching.
A destination on its own. Offering all that you could expect from a safari in Etosha, without the crowds but with the same great game viewing. Morning, afternoon and night drives. Rhino tracking. And a photographic hide. It’s ideal. Stay for 2 or more nights to really enjoy it all and of course to find time to simply relax, which you will see is inevitable once you’re there.
Morning and afternoon game drives on the private Etosha Heights Reserve. A chance to see a wide variety of wildlife including lions, cheetah, eland, kudu, hartebeest; springbok; black faced impala; oryx, Hartmann’s zebra; elephants & both white and black rhino.
Night drives to explore the African bush in the dark and a chance to view some nocturnal species. A different experience and a chance to truly appreciate the dark night Namibian sky.
Spend hours at the double-tiered photographic hide. Get some great shots of great sightings. Simply relax and watch the animals come and go.
Bush meals and picnics. Dine out in nature. (Best booked in advance).
When you visit Safari House, your stay directly supports vital Natural Selection conservation initiatives, including the protection of endangered rhinos and inspiring environmental responsibility in Namibian communities. At the heart of these efforts is the Etosha Heights Rhino Protection initiative, which takes rhino conservation seriously, operating a round-the-clock anti-poaching unit. Within the reserve, a dedicated camp and team work tirelessly to safeguard rhinos and prevent illegal hunting along the reserve's borders. Highly trained rangers, equipped with state-of-the-art surveillance technology, patrol 24/7 to ensure the rhinos’ safety, securing the future of this iconic species for generations to come.
In addition to rhino protection, Safari House supports the Khomas Environmental Education Programme (KEEP), an inspiring project led by the Giraffe Conservation Foundation (GCF). KEEP introduces young minds from urban primary schools in underserved areas to the beauty and importance of nature. Integrated into Namibia’s national curriculum, the programme offers hands-on experiences in the bush, sparking a love for the environment and cultivating responsible attitudes towards conservation among local and global communities.
Natural Selection was founded on a commitment to environmental conservation and community outreach, with a mission “to be a force for good in the protection of natural habitats.” To this end, 1.5% of each guest’s stay at Natural Selection camps is dedicated to conservation and community outreach initiatives in the region. Additionally, a per-person, per-night Conservation, Community, and Reserve Fee provides essential funding to protect wildlife, support surrounding communities and manage reserves and concessions. Since 2016, Natural Selection has supported 98 conservation and community projects, spanning Botswana, Namibia, South Africa and Madagascar.
Through your stay at Safari House, you contribute to these critical efforts, supporting wildlife conservation and sustainable community development. Additional donations are welcome through the Natural Selection Foundation, a US-based non-profit, to help ensure these initiatives continue to make a lasting impact.
