Ideal for couples, Rock Lodge captivates with its cliffside location, which affords spectacular views across the Zululand Valley.

During a stay here, you’ll have access to 29,866 hectares of private traversing across 7 distinct habitats – and with limited number of vehicles at sightings and sensitive off-roading practices, it seems as if you have Phinda all to yourself. The reserve is renowned for its healthy population of cheetah and black rhino, with the sand forest also home to the rare suni and red duiker – 2 tiny antelope species not often spotted elsewhere.

Rock Lodge’s 6 intimate suites resemble modern caves that appear to be floating above the valley. Wooden shutters and doors open onto a private viewing deck and splash pool, with several suites also featuring scenic outdoor showers.

The rooftop terrace sets the scene for panoramic sundowners and al fresco dinners, while back in your suite, you can take advantage of your own personal bar, gym-in-a-basket for workouts, and in-room spa treatments using Healing Earth products. Weather permitting, you might also find yourself at a bush banquet in a secret outdoor location within the reserve.
