Phinda Mountain Lodge

Phinda Mountain Lodge

Please note: Our review of this property has not yet been added. Watch this space. We're working on it.

As a tailor-made tour operator, we often have to get creative when designing your perfect itinerary.

For example, your travel consultant might add this property to your itinerary if:

Location is a significant factor
It offers a unique feature that will enhance your experience
This is a last-minute booking and room availability is limited
Cost is a factor and you'd rather splash out on another part of your trip
This is a newly opened or refurbished property that we have not inspected yet

When designing your custom itinerary we have much to consider not least of which is the value proposition of every product and service included in your quote. In all cases we strive to give you the best experience possible within your budget so please feel free to ask your travel consultant to share their reasons for including this property in your itinerary.

Phinda Mountain Lodge is one of several &Beyond lodges within the 29,866-hectare Phinda Private Game Reserve, and is perfectly placed for exploring the region’s seven distinct habitats – home to The Big Five, abundant plains game, and more than 400 bird species. The reserve is especially noted for its cheetah population and endangered black rhino, as well as rare antelope species such as the red duiker and suni.

The lodge’s 16 spacious suites – including 6 cottages that can be turned into 3 Family Cottages, as well as a Family Suite – are perched along the mountainside, offering sweeping views from private decks and plunge pools. Interiors balance modern comfort with local flair, with sliding glass doors, indoor and outdoor showers, and inviting daybeds for soaking up the scenery. The Family Suite comes with two interleading rooms, a private vehicle, ranger, and tracker – ideal for those travelling with children.

In addition to a beautiful rim-flow lodge pool and deck that overlooks the reserve, almost every suite and cottage comes with a private plunge pool to cool off in between game drives.

Little ones will have fun in the Kids Lounge and can enjoy a dedicated WILDchild programme, which is filled with fun, interactive activities for young explorers, while grown-ups can work out in the fully equipped gym – complete with sweeping views of the reserve – and appreciate soothing Healing Earth spa treatments in the intimate massage sala.

Capping off an adventurous day, the whole family can gather for a pan-African al-fresco dinner under the stars and around the open blazing fire at the lodge’s traditional boma, or make pizza in the traditional pizza oven.
