Set where the Khwai and Mababe Rivers meet on the eastern edge of the Okavango Delta, Nokanyana places you firmly in one of Botswana’s most prolific wildlife corridors. Overlooking the Khwai River and its busy floodplains, the intimate tented camp offers a relaxed safari experience, with game often visible from camp.
Nokanyana is well suited to both couples and families, striking the perfect balance between accessibility and wilderness. The lounge and dining area in the main camp area overlook the Khwai River, and the pool opens up to reveal further views across the floodplains.
Within this scenic setting, 7 classic safari tents and 3 spacious family units are positioned along the riverbank, each designed to maximise views of the surrounding bush. Light-filled, they feature indoor and outdoor showers and private decks to relax on between activities.
The lodge’s location allows for flexible safari experiences. Game drives explore the wildlife-rich Khwai area, with regular sightings of elephant, plains game and predators, while guided walks and seasonal mokoro excursions add different perspectives. Come evening, the outdoor boma sets the scene for atmospheric fireside dinners and gatherings.
Morning and afternoon game drives let you explore the Khwai and Mababe areas, with high chances of encountering elephant, big cats and plains game, while night drives reveal nocturnal species. Seasonal mokoro excursions offer a water-based view of the Delta’s channels, while guided bush walks provide a slower, more immersive perspective on the landscape. Full-day outings allow guests to venture into iconic regions such as Moremi, Savuti and Chobe, with a picnic lunch along the way.
A simple, seasonal bush camp where a light footprint and small scale help preserve the raw beauty of Nxai Pan. Nokanyana is located within the protected national park and supports conservation through park fees and controlled tourism.
