Set on Chief’s Island within Moremi Game Reserve, Wilderness Little Mombo occupies one of the most coveted wildlife-viewing locations in Africa. Part of the wildlife-rich Mombo Concession in the Okavango Delta, this is Big Game territory at its most prolific – a landscape of vast floodplains and scattered tree islands often described as the ‘Place of Plenty’.
Set under giant Jackalberry and sausage trees and overlooking a bountiful expanse that draws large herds of antelope, buffalo and elephant, the camp offers extraordinary predator sightings – including leopard, cheetah, and spotted hyena. White rhino have also been successfully reintroduced here as part of ongoing conservation initiatives, reflecting the camp’s strong sustainability ethos and solar-powered operations.
Connected to its larger sister, Mombo Camp, via a raised wooden walkway, Little Mombo remains entirely self-sufficient. With just 3 luxurious canvas suites, it provides an intimate safari experience exclusively for up to 8 guests. Each elevated tented suite offers a private lounge area, verandah, and sala, along with expansive ensuite bathrooms complete with indoor and outdoor showers.
The camp features its own lounge and dining area overlooking the busy floodplain, bar, kitchen, boma, plunge pool, and a library built around enormous tree trunks.
Days are dedicated to exceptional game drives, often revealing thrilling predator-prey encounters. Between activities, relax at the plunge pool, unwind at the spa or gym at nearby Mombo Camp, enjoy time in the photographic hide, or gather for fireside drinks and bush lunches at a teeming watering hole.
Activities centre around exceptional daytime game drives across the wildlife-rich plains of the Moremi Game Reserve. A strategically positioned hide allows for remarkable up-close wildlife encounters and superb photographic opportunities, while birding enthusiasts can look forward to spotting some of the more than 400 species recorded in the Delta. For a different perspective, scenic helicopter flights reveal the lush waterways of the Delta from above.
