Lolebezi is a camp that brings things together. The name is a combination of the owner’s son’s name, Lole, and the Zambezi. The location on the banks of the Zambezi River in a national park that’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site brings the land and water together so you can enjoy both. And the camp’s team are here to bring people and nature together in a harmonious way.
When talking wildlife, Lolebezi is best known for its leopard, elephant, and wild dog populations. So you can expect to see plenty from a camp that boasts a kilometre’s worth of private bank along the Zambezi River.
The camp has 5 luxury suites, one of which is designated for families. There’s also a villa. All are glass fronted so nothing spoils the views.
Luxury is the order of the day when it comes to presentation. Think marble washbasins, kingsize beds, private plunge pools, showers inside and out and full air conditioning.
Dip into the mini bar when thirsty, and admire the Zambian handicrafts at your leisure. There’s even a swing chair to relax and read on, and a pair of binoculars provided to help you get even closer views of the wildlife all around you.
You can meet fellow guests – who tend to be young, cool types – in the main area. Here for all guests is the camp’s biggest swimming pool (an infinity pool), plus a spa and gym.
There’s also a lounge with a variety of sofas, some circular, some curved, all comfortable with cushions you can arrange to suit your taste to enjoy the river views.
In the dining room locally sourced food is served, with the chef often bringing your dishes to the table – showing there’s a clear sense of pride in the quality of meals here. A boma gives you an alternative place to eat, and proves a popular place for late night viewings of the water and the star-filled sky.
On the water, seasonal canoeing and boat cruises are offered, all of which will let you get close to crocodile and hippo as well as numerous species of bird. Catch and release fishing is on the cards too, with a chance to see and hook a tiger fish or two proving to be an unmissable temptation for many anglers.
chi guided game drives in 4x4s are the main attraction. Walking safaris through forests of acacia are also popular for close up encounters with wildlife – all guided by experienced rangers and trackers of course.
You can get your guide to personalize your tour, so if you’re obsessed with elephants or longing to see leopard, those magnificent mammals can be the focus of your expedition into the bush. Or if you’re looking to capture the best photos of your experience, an itinerary can be created to ensure you can snap the best landscapes and animals.
