Big wilderness, small camps and some of Africa’s finest walking safari country.
This 9-day safari combines two of Zambia’s best-known wilderness areas, beginning in the Lower Zambezi before continuing to South Luangwa. The focus is firmly on exploring on foot, giving you the chance to slow everything down and experience the bush at ground level rather than simply watching it pass from a vehicle.
You’ll start with three nights at Kutali Camp, tucked away in a remote part of the Lower Zambezi, before flying across to South Luangwa for stays at Luwi and Kakuli. Between them, these camps offer a wonderfully traditional safari experience, with expert guiding, wild landscapes and the chance to discover the smaller details that make walking safaris so rewarding.
Day 1 - 4: Lower Zambezi National Park - fully inclusive
Day 4 - 9: South Luangwa - fully inclusive

Days 1–3: Lower Zambezi
Your journey begins with a flight from Lusaka to Jeki Airstrip, followed by a transfer into the Lower Zambezi to Kutali Camp, where you’ll spend the next three nights.
This is a wonderfully remote place to start the safari, with plenty of time to settle into the rhythm of life in the bush and explore the surrounding wilderness on foot.
Walking safaris give you a very different perspective. Instead of covering large distances, the emphasis is on tracks, sounds, plants, insects and the signs left behind by wildlife. Your guide will help piece everything together as you move quietly through the landscape, while larger animals can still make an appearance at any time. With three nights here, there is also time to enjoy the setting at a slower pace and take in the sense of space that makes the Lower Zambezi such a special safari destination.
Accommodation:
Kutali Camp
Days 4–6: South Luangwa – Luwi
On Day 4, transfer back to Jeki Airstrip for your flight to Mfuwe. On arrival, you’ll be met and transferred into South Luangwa National Park to Time + Tide Luwi, where you’ll spend the next three nights.
South Luangwa is one of Africa’s great walking safari destinations, and Luwi is particularly well suited to travellers who want a more traditional and immersive experience. Days are spent exploring on foot with experienced guides, following animal tracks, learning how to read the bush and getting a much closer understanding of the ecosystem around you. You may encounter elephant, giraffe, antelope and other wildlife along the way, while the slower pace means you notice far more of the detail that is easy to miss from a vehicle.
Accommodation:
Time + Tide Luwi
Days 7 & 8: South Luangwa – Kakuli
On Day 7, you’ll leave Luwi and transfer through the park to Time + Tide Kakuli. The change of camp gives you a chance to experience a different part of South Luangwa while continuing the same walking-focused style of safari.
Kakuli is well positioned for exploring both on foot and, where appropriate, by vehicle, giving you a little more variety towards the end of the journey.Your final full day is another opportunity to head out with your guide, looking for wildlife and enjoying the quieter, more intimate pace that makes walking safaris so memorable.
Accommodation:
Time + Tide Kakuli
Day 9: Departure
After breakfast, transfer from Kakuli to Mfuwe Airport for your flight back to Lusaka. Your safari ends after nine days spent exploring two of Zambia’s finest wilderness areas, with the emphasis throughout on expert guiding, remote camps and seeing the bush from an entirely different perspective.
