Chiawa Camp, Lower Zambezi National Park

Chiawa Camp was one of the first safari lodges to set up camp in the once-lawless-now-thriving Lower Zambezi National Park. Today, the family-run camp retains its pioneering African safari ethos with a charming old-world safari tent accommodation beneath massive thatched gazebos.

When designing your custom itinerary we have much to consider not least of which is the value proposition of every product and service included in your quote. In all cases we strive to give you the best experience possible within your budget so please feel free to ask your travel consultant to share their reasons for including this property in your itinerary.

Chiawa Camp has six large double suites, two super-sized suites and a palatial honeymoon suite. All have private game viewing balconies beneath a beautiful fringe of mahogany trees on the edge of the Zambezi River. Bathrooms conform to the traditional open-air theme and have twin vanities, two showers, delightful slipper baths and Molton Brown toiletries on tap.

The living area features swimming pool, a covered lounge and (rarely used) dining area, an elevated game viewing platform and bright and cheery campfire around which you usually start and end your day.

Guided fishing trips and excellent birding offer a specialist diversion to the fantastic big game wildlife and Zambezi Valley wilderness experience.
