Forming part of the MORE Family Collection, Tinga Lodge is one of four exclusive luxury riverside lodges within Lion Sands – the only private reserve rooted in both the Sabi Sand Nature Reserve and Kruger National Park.
Offering exclusive traversing on private concessions, Lion Sands is home to the highest and most diverse concentration of wildlife in the southern hemisphere, and is renowned for its Big Five viewing – in particular the elusive leopard.
Enjoying a scenic high-bank setting up from the Sabie River, you’ll also be treated to incredible wildlife sightings from the comfort of the lodge. Offering a plunge pool and an expansive deck that can be set up for private dinners, the 9 suites overlook the water and spell classic Out of Africa romance. Elevated wooden pathways lead to the spa sala and the main lodge, which features a bar lounge, pool, library, and boma for romantic dinner under the stars.
For all-out luxury and privacy, book the two-bedroom Hinkwenu Residence, which comes with its own guide and lodge teams, and private pool and safari vehicle. Meanwhile, those couples looking for a starlit sleepover surrounded by the wild can spend a night at the Tinyeleti Treehouse experience, which includes a picnic dinner before you drift off to the chorus of the bush.
On top of the twice-daily game drives, you can set out on foot after breakfast for an up-close look at the fauna and flora. Guests are also invited to stop at the local Huntington village, where they can spend time with children of the local school, and visit a Sangoma (traditional healer) and village Induna (chief), before having a traditional cooking lesson. And mini-trackers will love the dedicated children’s programme, Mack & Madi Kids’ Adventure, which will keep them busy and entertained for hours – and will introduce them to the natural wonders of the bush in a playful manner.
