This site is behind Canyon Roadhouse on the privately owned Gondwana Canyon Park. Alone with the eagles, listen to the call of the canyon. Only 14km away. Trek up the "local mountain" and watch the silent quiver trees. How clever they are standing out in the sands, surviving with no signs of water. But take a closer look. Their succulent leaves and bloated branches belie a secret. They're full of water. You can be too as the camp has plenty. Hot and cold. And fresh. There's shade around as well. Choose from 10 campsites with a maximum of 10 people in each.
The sites are well spaced, clean and well kept. This is bush camping but the ablutions are decent and the toilets flush. It's basic but this is camping after all.
Braai; bar area; restaurant; fresh water in camp; laundry service; swimming pool; WiFi at lodge; 24 hour security; power points available; secure parking; wood available to buy.
You can do big hikes, small hikes, sundowner walks and trips to watch the plains animals wander: zebra, wildebeest, gemsbok and remember what's on your doorstep? Yup. The largest canyon in Africa. That's one mighty gorgeous gorge.
