To get to Hobas you drive through the Gondwana Cañon Nature Park and the campsite is at the entrance to the Fish River Canyon Park, 10km from the canyon's best viewpoint at Hell's Bend.
The camping sites are well shaded by trees and they have thatched gazebos. Each site has a picnic table, fireplace and water; despite the camp's popularity with large groups, the communal ablutions are usually clean.

The campsite has a swimming pool - probably the best news you'll hear all day in that blazing heat - and the shop stocks basic supplies and local curios.
