A new camp that’s easily accessible from Namibia’s main national highway

Please note: Our review of this property has not yet been added. Watch this space. We're working on it.

As a tailor-made tour operator, we often have to get creative when designing your perfect itinerary.

For example, your travel consultant might add this property to your itinerary if:

Location is a significant factor
It offers a unique feature that will enhance your experience
This is a last-minute booking and room availability is limited
Cost is a factor and you'd rather splash out on another part of your trip
This is a newly opened or refurbished property that we have not inspected yet

When designing your custom itinerary we have much to consider not least of which is the value proposition of every product and service included in your quote. In all cases we strive to give you the best experience possible within your budget so please feel free to ask your travel consultant to share their reasons for including this property in your itinerary.

You don’t have to travel far off the beaten track to reach this camp, which first opened to guests in 2025. Avenir is just 2 hours from Windhoek International Airport, and close to the B1 national highway which stretches the entire length of Namibia.

And when you get to the camp, you’ll find a wealth of different kinds of accommodation options to suit all budgets.

Suites and chalets to choose from

There are three types of accommodation at Avenir, all of which are air conditioned and served by free Wi Fi.

The Waterhole Suites

This premium option offers picturesque privacy with a capital ‘P’. Each suite is fully detached overlooking the waterhole where wildlife of all kinds are frequent visitors. Even though you’re close enough to the action to not need binoculars, having a pair handy will serve you well.

The best spot for watching is on the patio at the front of your suite. It’s a space that’s sheltered by the overhanging thatched roof that covers all of your accommodation. Inside, there’s a kingsize bed, beautifully made with quality bedding to ensure nightly comfort. You can serve yourselves tea, coffee or something a little stronger from the coffee station and minibar. There’s also a small fridge to keep your drinks cool. Your ensuite bathroom gives you options when it comes to freshening up, as it has a freestanding tub and walk-in shower as well as a sink and of course a WC.

The Classic Garden Chalets

Surrounded by greenery whether it’s the grass on the ground or the leaves on the trees, these single level thatched home-from-homes are marketed for solo travellers and couples looking for simple, comfortable accommodation. You can choose to have a kingsize or twin beds. Either way, your ensuite will have a bathtub and rain shower. But the place you’re likely to spend most of your waking hours is out on the patio where you can sit and take in the views of the lush gardens all around you.

The Family Chalets

These are similar to the garden chalets, except they are closer to the main lodge so your children don’t have to walk far. They are also bigger with two linked rooms and stairs up to a mezzanine level under the roof beams.

The Campsites

Avenir also gives guests who prefer to bring their own accommodation the option to camp in shaded areas and enjoy solar powered facilities which include a private shower and WC, with each unit served by hot running water.

Facilities for all

You can enjoy your breakfast and dinner out in the open or undercover in the communal central area of camp. The bar and guest lounge are popular spots to enjoy a drink before and after eating, and there are plenty of vantage points where you can sit and watch the wildlife visiting a waterhole just outside of camp.

Fancy some time in the water yourself? Head for the splash pool, and when you’re done with cooling down, dry off around the fire, either indoors in the lounge or outside around the pit – depending on the weather.  And if you’re visiting with children, there’s a grassy play area that gives kids somewhere to run around and burn off their energy.
