This incredible combo safari covers the main highlights of Namibia over 11 days including Sossusvlei in the Namib Desert, Swakopmund on the Skeleton Coast, the rugged region of Damaraland along with the highlights of the Twyfelfontein area and prolific wildlife in Etosha National Park.
Flying the first section of your holiday will give you a perspective of the wide open spaces of the Namib Desert and includes a scenic flight over the Skeleton Coast, where the dunes meet the sea. The second section of your tour is private guided which will give you a chance to explore the remote beauty of Namibia by road led by an expert on all things Namibia. A holiday that truly gives you the best of both.
Day 1: Windhoek
Arrive in at the Hosea Kutako International Airport just outside of Windhoek. You’ll be transferred roughly 45 minutes to your accommodation in town where you will spend the night. Meet with our meet and greet representative during your stay to handover your travel package and discuss your travel plans with you for the fly-in section of your trip.
When you’re there: Freshen up and put your feet up after your long haul flight. The remainder of the day here can be spent at leisure either relaxing or exploring some of the sights in Windhoek. For dinner, head into town to a local favourite. Reception can assist with a booking and transfers.

Day 2 & 3: Sossusvlei
Today your fly-in safari begins as you transfer back to the airport to meet with your pilot for your private charter flight to your first destination, the endless sand dunes of the Namib Desert in Sossusvlei.
On the way: Briefing by your pilot and then hop on board your Cessna 210 aircraft for your flight south over the Namib Desert landscapes. From above you can truly grasp the vastness of Namibia.
When you’re there: Meet with your lodge guide at the airstrip and transfer to your accommodation on arrival where you will spend the next two nights. Your stay includes a sundowner drive and a Sossusvlei excursion. Enjoy the sundowner this afternoon if you wish and then tomorrow you are off to explore the wonder of the desert and giant towering sand dunes in Sossusvlei.
Our tip: Book additional activities to fill your days if you wish to do more or put your feet up soaking in the endless views if you’d rather take it easy. A hot air balloon safari is a superb recommendation for an optional extra add-on.
Desert Homestead Lodge
Day 4 & 5: Swakopmund
Today you have a scenic flight over the desert to the Atlantic Ocean taking in shipwrecks and old diamond mines until you reach where they meet. It’s really quite spectacular and one of the main reasons for flying this first section of your trip.
On the way: There is much to see and take in as far as the eye can see. It’s incredible to see the dunes disappear into the sea. As the scenery and landscape changes so too does the temperature. Enjoy the cool respite on arrival in Swakopmund.
When you’re there: Bid your pilot farewell as you transfer into town for the next two nights on the coast. There are many activities to choose from to fill your days. From Sandwich Harbour tours and ocean boat cruises to quad bikes and sand boarding. There’s something for everyone and enough to keep you busy so plan accordingly. A stroll through town is an activity in itself and a fine way to spend a morning or afternoon enjoying the local atmosphere and vibe.
When you aren’t out and about enjoying activities, you can rest and relax and of course dining is splendid too.

Day 6 & 7: Damaraland
Today your private guided adventure begins. Your guide will meet you at the guesthouse this morning after breakfast. Get acquainted and load your bags, it’s time to explore Namibia by road.
On the way: Your guide will discuss your preferences for the day and suit your route according to that. You can either head a far way north along the desolate coast to Damaraland or only head as far as Cape Cross for the seals before heading inland from Henties Bay via Uis and Brandberg to the Tywfelfontein area.
When you’re there: You’ll have time enough to go on a nature drive in search of the desert-adapted elephants and to take in the sights of Twyfelfontein including the ancient rock engravings, Burnt Mountain and Organ Pipes. Be sure to enjoy the sundowners here as the sunsets easily rival some of the best in Africa.

Day 8: Etosha National Park - South
Your private guided adventure continues. Your guide will likely recommend heading off early this morning which will give you time for a game drive on the southern side of the park this afternoon.
On the way: Your guide will take you to the Petrified Forest near Khorixas and possibly past the geological phenomenon of Vingerklip if this is of interest.
When you’re there: Game drives galore as you explore the park with your guide. Take it all in, both the wildlife sightings and the knowledge your guide will share with you. There’s loads of both.
Note: If staying at Ongava Lodge, you could opt for an extra optional afternoon guided activity on the private Ongava Reserve with a lodge guide.
Day 9 & 10: Etosha National Park - East
Good morning, today your wildlife extravaganza continues as you head through the park from one side to the other. Your guide will arrange for a packed lunch to enjoy at a suitable busy waterhole along the way.
On the way: Keep your eyes peeled, your binoculars and cameras at the ready. You have ample time to explore the park and enjoy the game drives with your guide. Stop to enjoy a view of the pan. It’s enormous and rather a marvel when you consider the density of wildlife compared to its expanse.
When you’re there: Game drives with your guide to explore more and more of Etosha. Go in the mornings and afternoon for best sightings or go all day and stop along the way. Your schedule is flexible, let the wildlife predict your plans.

Day 11: Windhoek
(Departure / End of Tour)
11 days have flown and your holiday has come to an end. Leaving Etosha you will make your way back to Windhoek.
On the way: It’s a longer drive but an easy one on all tarred roads heading back to the capital. On arrival your guide will drop you off at the airport in time for your departure flight. Then it’s time to head back home and share your memories and photographs will your family and friends back at home.
Our tip: Book an additional night in or just outside of Windhoek before heading back home to end on a relaxed note. We can recommend a stay where you can indulge in spa treatments and a final sundowner in the bush.
