Day-to-day Itinerary

Days 1 & 2: Sossusvlei
(2 nights)

Your safari begins at Hosea Kutako International Airport, where you’ll board a private charter flight south-west towards the Namib Desert.

On arrival at Sossusvlei Desert Lodge Airstrip, you’ll be met and transferred to Sossusvlei Desert Lodge, your home for the next two nights.

Set among stark mountains and wide-open desert, this is a spectacular place to begin your journey. During your stay, you’ll have time to explore the surrounding desert and visit the famous dunes of Sossusvlei and the ancient clay pan of Deadvlei.

Back at the lodge, slow things down with time beside your private pool, enjoy the enormous views or simply take in the silence. The clear desert skies also make this an excellent place for stargazing after dark.

Days 3 & 4: Swakopmund
(2 nights)

After breakfast on Day 3, transfer back to the airstrip and board your charter flight to Swakopmund.

On arrival, you’ll be transferred to Strand Hotel, set right on the beachfront and within easy reach of the town centre. You’ll have the rest of the day and all of Day 4 to enjoy Swakopmund at your own pace. Explore the town’s cafés, restaurants and shops, take a walk along the beach or choose from the many activities available in and around the area.

Popular options include a boat cruise from nearby Walvis Bay, a 4x4 excursion into Sandwich Harbour, scenic flights over the Namib Desert, quad biking, kayaking and desert tours. After the heat and silence of Sossusvlei, Swakopmund offers a complete change of pace – cooler, livelier and wonderfully relaxed.

Accommodation:
Strand Hotel Swakopmund

Days 5 & 6: Hoanib Valley(2 nights)

On Day 5, transfer to Swakopmund Airport for your charter flight north. The flight routes via Twyfelfontein before continuing into the remote wilderness of north-western Namibia and Orutjandja Airstrip.

From here, you’ll be transferred to Hoanib Valley Camp, surrounded by rugged mountains, dry riverbeds and vast open landscapes. Your time here is spent exploring one of Namibia’s wildest regions with your guide. The area is particularly well known for its desert-adapted wildlife, including elephants that have learned to survive in this harsh and dry environment.

Game drives take you through the valleys and along seasonal riverbeds in search of elephant, giraffe, oryx and other wildlife, while the dramatic scenery is a highlight in its own right. There’s a real sense of remoteness here, making Hoanib Valley a wonderful contrast to both Sossusvlei and the coast.

Days 7 & 8: Onguma & Etosha
(2 nights)

After breakfast on Day 7, transfer back to Orutjandja Airstrip and board your charter flight east to Onguma. On arrival, you’ll be met and transferred to Onguma Camp Kala, an intimate and highly exclusive camp overlooking its own private waterhole.

Your full day here is all about wildlife. Onguma borders the eastern side of Etosha National Park, giving you the opportunity to explore both the private reserve and Etosha itself. Game drives may bring sightings of elephant, giraffe, zebra, antelope and predators including lion, while Etosha’s famous waterholes can be particularly rewarding as wildlife gathers to drink. Back at Camp Kala, you won’t necessarily need to go anywhere to keep watching. The lodge’s waterhole attracts regular visitors, so there is often plenty happening right in front of camp.

Day 9: Onguma to Windhoek

Enjoy your final morning at Onguma before checking out and transferring to the airstrip.

From here, your charter flight takes you back to Hosea Kutako International Airport, where your 9-day journey comes to an end.

In just over a week, you’ll have experienced the giant dunes of the Namib, the Atlantic coast, the remote wilderness of the north-west and the wildlife-rich landscapes of Etosha – with some spectacular aerial views connecting it all.
