Voightland Guesthouse

Voightland Guesthouse

Please note: Our review of this property has not yet been added. Watch this space. We're working on it.

As a tailor-made tour operator, we often have to get creative when designing your perfect itinerary.

For example, your travel consultant might add this property to your itinerary if:

Location is a significant factor
It offers a unique feature that will enhance your experience
This is a last-minute booking and room availability is limited
Cost is a factor and you'd rather splash out on another part of your trip
This is a newly opened or refurbished property that we have not inspected yet

When designing your custom itinerary we have much to consider not least of which is the value proposition of every product and service included in your quote. In all cases we strive to give you the best experience possible within your budget so please feel free to ask your travel consultant to share their reasons for including this property in your itinerary.

Originally built around 1900, this charming old world guesthouse is set on a farm on the slopes of a hill, en route to Windhoek Airport – making it a great introduction to Namibia, or a tranquil stop on your way home.

Run by a fourth-generation family, hosts Gaby and Stephan welcome guests with open arms – the real stars of the show, however, are the resident giraffes, Gustav, Sophie and Shorty, who’re looked after by ‘giraffe whisperer’, Sacharia. You’ll see other animals roaming the grounds, too, including retired horses, donkeys, cows, tortoises, and cats and dogs.

The property features a main stone farm house with African and European furnishings and spacious living areas, and 4 well-appointed bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms in an adjacent building. On arrival, you’ll find freshly baked cookies, homemade brandy for a nightcap, and chocolates in the fridge in your room.

Guests are able to choose between several overnight packages, which include farm-style breakfasts, and optionally, a light lunch and four-course signature dinner on the enclosed patio – usually including game such as eland or oryx. Included in every stay is the Giraffe High Tea – a unique afternoon tea experience on the scenic deck, which is followed by giraffe feeding right by your table.

Offering a range of massages, the Voigtland Spa adds to the feeling of wellbeing – as does the refreshing outdoor pool.
