The Stiltz

The Stiltz

Please note: Our review of this property has not yet been added. Watch this space. We're working on it.

As a tailor-made tour operator, we often have to get creative when designing your perfect itinerary.

For example, your travel consultant might add this property to your itinerary if:

Location is a significant factor
It offers a unique feature that will enhance your experience
This is a last-minute booking and room availability is limited
Cost is a factor and you'd rather splash out on another part of your trip
This is a newly opened or refurbished property that we have not inspected yet

When designing your custom itinerary we have much to consider not least of which is the value proposition of every product and service included in your quote. In all cases we strive to give you the best experience possible within your budget so please feel free to ask your travel consultant to share their reasons for including this property in your itinerary.

While a lodge on stilts is something you might expect atop a waterway system in the mozzy-infested tropical humidity of the Okavango Delta, The Stiltz sits four meters above ground with a view of the sand dunes, lagoon and the Atlantic ocean.

Spacious and charmingly decorated, the bungalows have thermally efficient thatched roofs perfect for Swakopmund's contrary climate, full en suite bathrooms and private balconies. With just eight bungalows, a family unit and two villas your stay at The Stiltz is secluded, intimate and tranquil, belying its proximity to the bustling town - well hey, you've seen the rest of Namibia haven't you?

We'll do our best to book you a bungalow closer to the river mouth. Eagles, kites, falcons, pelicans, flamingoes, sparrows, cormorants, orange river white-eyes, bee-eaters and hornbills are just some of the 150 species on record and an extraordinary number of these will pay you a house call if you sit on your balcony long enough.

The sea breeze, dramatic views and symphony of bird song and ocean waves in the background is sure to do one of two things: lull you into snuggly slumber with your electric blanket or spur your spirits in the direction of the reasonably-priced mini bar. From your enchanting abode, The Jetty and Tug Seafood Restaurants are a short beachside stroll away and with all this invigorating sea air, your appetite will certainly rise to the occasion.
