Once home to Nelson Mandela, the storied suburb of Houghton is lined with jacaranda-dotted streets and wealthy properties – including the Nelson Mandela Houghton Estate. The Residence fits right in, thanks to a lush setting, plush interiors that have been hand-selected by the owners, and world-class service.

The 18 luxury rooms and suites make for a comfortable stay, with refined touches such as fireplaces and outdoor showers, baths or hot tubs, as well as gleaming marble bathrooms. For the most comfortable stay, book the Penthouse or one of the signature suites.

Guests can make full use of the tennis courts or work out in the gym, relax on a sunlounger at one of three pools, indulge in a spa treatment, and end their day with cocktails in the lounge.

With OR Tambo International Airport only a 30-minute drive away, the hotel is also a great stopover en route to Cape Town or a safari lodge in the Kruger National Park.
