Here’s a new destination in Namibia amid the mountains, dunes and plains that’s got all the ingredients to dazzle the discerning and impress the kind of people who aren’t easily impressed.
The Luna Namib Collection (opens July 2026) is located in an area south of Sesriem that’s rich with cicadas, camelthorn trees and the Namib Sand Sea. Book here, and you’re sure of a rich and rewarding experience, with each of the suites offering incredible views through floor to ceiling windows, and with a personal concierge who’ll ensure you have all you need.
This is an exclusive destination with a capital ‘E’. Only 3 units will be available to book at the initial opening, with a further 2 added in April 2027. So availability will be at a premium. But if you’re lucky enough to secure a stay, you’re in for a treat.
Luna Collection has three types of accommodation, called ‘units’ by their creators, though whether that term does them justice is open to question. Each is in a secluded location, so you’ll feel like you’re the only people staying here. You’ll feel incredible comfort too, in the kingsize beds set amid wooden furnishings, and on the daybeds out on the deck, offering untainted views across the plains that’ll bring a smile to your face every time you see them.
Enjoy every sunrise, every sunset, every moonlit evening from amid the splendour of a suite that feels part of the landscape it graces. You’re sure to want to spend time out on your deck, and the binoculars provided will come in handy, allowing you to get close to the wildlife around you without leaving the comfort of your chair or bed.
The Double and King Units have one bedroom each, so space for up to 2 guests. The Family units have two bedrooms and capacity to sleep 4. Whichever unit best suits your needs, expect the exceptional. Each has a living room with those huge windows, and there’s a plunge pool out on the deck. There’s also an ensuite bathroom with a freestanding roll-top tub and a shower.
Guests staying in the collection of Luna units are united in the shared main area of camp. This is where you’ll find a lounge and a restaurant with an open plan kitchen so you can watch the chefs at work. There’s also a barbecue area for outdoor eating, a swimming pool for cooling off, and a telescope trained on the plains, so if there’s a rare animal sighting, you won’t miss it.
An activities team ready to arrange your dream experiences. If it’s available in the area, the team will book it for you. Head over to the tour and sightseeing desk where someone will be ready to help arrange opportunities for you to explore the local region. You could choose a private drive out onto the plains to spot local wildlife, with a guide leading your 4x4 to the places you’re most likely to see ostrich, springbok, jackal and others. You might also want to book a helicopter trip or strike out on a hiking adventure across the desert.
