While you'll want for nothing during your stay at Tena Tena Camp in the South Luangwa Valley, you'll also want nothing removed. So well balanced is the comfort-to-wildlife experience ratio at Tena Tena that, for all its paired down simplicity, wins this tiny safari lodge hearts and accolades year in and year and out.

Accommodation at Tena Tena is in five large safari tents, beds turned sideways to face the waterhole, en suite bathroom open to the elements and veranda overlooking the activity all around you.

The living area is a simple open-sided marquee with a cool stone floor and comfortable Morris chairs; the dining area is an elevated platform with a single dining table around which you all gather to hear the exciting tales of Africa as recounted by your accomplished guides and hosts.

Tena Tena huddles arounds a stand of huge mahogany trees on a bend in the Luangwa River. Game drives, walking safaris and night drives are enhanced by the excellent guides whose knowledge of birds, plants, animals and local geography is bewildering.
