Please note: Our review of this property has not yet been added. Watch this space. We're working on it.

As a tailor-made tour operator, we often have to get creative when designing your perfect itinerary.

For example, your travel consultant might add this property to your itinerary if:

Location is a significant factor
It offers a unique feature that will enhance your experience
This is a last-minute booking and room availability is limited
Cost is a factor and you'd rather splash out on another part of your trip
This is a newly opened or refurbished property that we have not inspected yet

When designing your custom itinerary we have much to consider not least of which is the value proposition of every product and service included in your quote. In all cases we strive to give you the best experience possible within your budget so please feel free to ask your travel consultant to share their reasons for including this property in your itinerary.

Tucked away within 27,000 hectares of protected, malaria-free wilderness near Graaff-Reinet in South Africa’s Eastern Cape, Samara The Manor offers an exclusive-use safari escape in the heart of the Great Karoo. Set within one of the country’s most ambitious conservation projects, the experience combines wide-open landscapes, meaningful wildlife encounters and the privacy of a beautifully restored country house, all within a malaria-free private reserve home to cheetah, elephant, rhino and lion.

Reimagined as an elegant private hideaway for up to 8 adults and 2 children, The Manor is perfect for families or friends travelling together. Balancing classic architecture with contemporary comfort, the villa is surrounded by indigenous gardens and shaded verandas.

The open-plan interiors are warm and refined, featuring two living areas with two smaller breakaway alcoves for lounging and reading. A dining room, small bar, breakfast room, gym and kitchen complete the layout. Large windows frame views of the surrounding mountains and plains, while the central courtyard and striking infinity pool provide serene spots to relax during the warmer months.

Accommodation comprises 4 individually styled suites sleeping up to 8 guests in total. Generous in size and filled with natural light, each suite features luxury ensuite bathrooms and scenic verandahs with loungers.

The day unfolds at a pace shaped entirely around guests, with a dedicated team, including a field guide, tracker, chef and host, ensuring a personalised experience and tailormade programme.
