Located 19km inside the Zambezi National Park, this beautifully built solar-powered lodge offers easy access to the thunderous wonder that is Victoria Falls, while at the same time being hidden away from the main tourist trail.
The sandy shores of the Zambezi River set the scene for a ‘barefoot luxury’ stay, with a sand floor bar, a cooling swimming pool and pool lounge, and various outdoor and indoor dining areas. The design harmoniously combines thatched roofs in the main areas with canvas roofs, stone walls, and wooden decking floors in the 5 tented suites. Each riverside suite has a shaded private veranda, and an outdoor bathtub and shower, with decking out front leading down to the Zambezi River. The 2 Family Suites comprise 2 large canvas suites each, with a central lounge area between 2 ensuite bedrooms.
The reserve boasts some of the highest concentration of lion per square km of any Zimbabwean park, with the river attracting huge crocs and hippos. You can make the most of the beautiful surroundings with a picnic breakfast or lunch in the bush – after a game drive, enjoy a soothing in-room massage, or relax in one of the hammocks in the bar with a good book.
Explore 56,000 hectares of conservation area on guided game drives in open safari vehicles, set out on guided walks, and board morning or afternoon boat cruises (subject to water level and seasonality) – either in a motorised boat or under sail in a traditional dhow. Catch-and-release fishing is also on offer, as is a half-day guided tour of Victoria Falls for guests staying 2 nights or more.
