Machaba Camp

Machaba Camp

Please note: Our review of this property has not yet been added. Watch this space. We're working on it.

As a tailor-made tour operator, we often have to get creative when designing your perfect itinerary.

For example, your travel consultant might add this property to your itinerary if:

Location is a significant factor
It offers a unique feature that will enhance your experience
This is a last-minute booking and room availability is limited
Cost is a factor and you'd rather splash out on another part of your trip
This is a newly opened or refurbished property that we have not inspected yet

When designing your custom itinerary we have much to consider not least of which is the value proposition of every product and service included in your quote. In all cases we strive to give you the best experience possible within your budget so please feel free to ask your travel consultant to share their reasons for including this property in your itinerary.

Machaba Camp feels a bit like a mobile camp with its tented suites erected directly onto the soft sand of the floodplain. But it would take a convoy of large trucks to move this feast including huge beds, deep sofas in a full-sized lounge area, an en suite bathroom complete with romantic outdoor shower and a large covered porch area facing the river and its busy parade of wildlife.

The living area is also a tented expanse of barefoot luxury with just enough rustic charm to enhance the bush experience and just enough creature comforts - like fine dining and a swimming pool - to make it just that little bit special. The food, the service, the tranquil atmosphere all combine to make Machaba Camp a memorable safari experience.

The guides, as in all of Botswana's luxury safari camps, are excellent. With such creative names as Leopard and Custard, you know you're in for a treat of getting to know the true African character on top of your wilderness experience.

Machaba Camp is on the edge of the Okavango Delta giving you both water and land safari activities all year round. In addition to the wonderful setting and the prolific birdlife, animals you're likely to see on your game drives, walks and water safaris include elephant, lions, leopard, hyena, wild dog, jackal and many antelope and plains game.
