Drotsky's Cabins

Drotsky's Cabins

Please note: Our review of this property has not yet been added. Watch this space. We're working on it.

As a tailor-made tour operator, we often have to get creative when designing your perfect itinerary.

For example, your travel consultant might add this property to your itinerary if:

Location is a significant factor
It offers a unique feature that will enhance your experience
This is a last-minute booking and room availability is limited
Cost is a factor and you'd rather splash out on another part of your trip
This is a newly opened or refurbished property that we have not inspected yet

When designing your custom itinerary we have much to consider not least of which is the value proposition of every product and service included in your quote. In all cases we strive to give you the best experience possible within your budget so please feel free to ask your travel consultant to share their reasons for including this property in your itinerary.

As the Okavango turns south through Namibia's Caprivi region, the land flattens and the river spreads out to form the fat panhandle of the Delta. Drotsky's Cabins is right on the edge of the river and this family-run lodge has all the charm in the world.

Accommodation is in large brick A-frames near the water's edge with en suite bathrooms and a tree-shaded deck from which to admire the view. The bar is a lively waterhole for the locals, also right on the river, and the restaurant serves up a hearty if a little ordinary plate of grub.

Perfectly placed for a Namibia-Botswana combination tour, Drotsky's Cabins is about four hour's from Rundu, also on the Okavango River, giving you an excellent Okavango Delta experience without the Okavango Delta prices. From Drotsky's you can loop back to Windhoek via the Kalahari or continue on via the Delta proper and on to Victoria Falls by way of Chobe National Park for a truly awesome safari adventure.

Life at Drotsky's revolves around the river: fishing, boating and birding are the main attractions and the Tsodilo Hills - Botswana's only World Heritage Site - feature San rock art and are well worth the visit.
