Country House

Please note: Our review of this property has not yet been added. Watch this space. We're working on it.

As a tailor-made tour operator, we often have to get creative when designing your perfect itinerary.

For example, your travel consultant might add this property to your itinerary if:

Location is a significant factor
It offers a unique feature that will enhance your experience
This is a last-minute booking and room availability is limited
Cost is a factor and you'd rather splash out on another part of your trip
This is a newly opened or refurbished property that we have not inspected yet

When designing your custom itinerary we have much to consider not least of which is the value proposition of every product and service included in your quote. In all cases we strive to give you the best experience possible within your budget so please feel free to ask your travel consultant to share their reasons for including this property in your itinerary.

Fields, meadows, woodland, animals. You can see them all at The Country House, a modern 5-bedroom home located on an estate that’s a working vineyard just 30 minutes from the coast at Plettenberg Bay on the Garden Route.

Bring your bikes and boots as there are tracks and trails aplenty to explore in The Crags area of the Western Cape. And booking The Country House exclusively for your party of up to 10 will give you somewhere private and luxurious to return to at the end of your day’s adventuring.

The swimming pool

Let’s start with perhaps the biggest attraction at The Country House – your private pool. Whether you’re a dip your toes or dive right in person, you’re sure to appreciate having cool blue water in your back yard. Great for keeping in shape during your stay, the L-shaped pool (is it L for lush, or lovely?) has loungers (another L) on which you can dry off in the sun before heading elsewhere or back in for more.

5 guest bedrooms

Each room is individually decorated with zip and link beds that can be configured as one kingsize or two singles. This flexibility makes The Country House an ideal destination for families as well as groups of friends or couples.

All with ensuite bathrooms

There’s no need to wander down the hall trying to find the nearest vacant bathroom at The Country House. Every room has its own ensuite featuring a tub and shower, with towels and toiletries provided.

Large kitchen and dining area

Whoever’s cooking in your group will rub their hands with glee when they see the countertop space, appliances and cookware that’s ready and waiting in the Chef’s Kitchen.

Once the deliciousness is ready to enjoy, the main dining area is just a few steps from the kitchen, so you won’t have far to carry your plates and glasses to and from the table. There’s also a breakfast bar seating area with stools where you can enjoy coffee or just watch the cook doing their thing. And there’s another wooden dining table in a covered area on the patio by the pool where you can eat alfresco.

Fancy getting someone else to prepare your meals during your stay? No problem. Your hosts can book a private caterer for you, or you can use the on-site family restaurant for those times you want an eat-out experience without travelling far.

Areas for relaxation and play

Snuggle up by the fire in the living room, maybe to watch the wall-mounted flatscreen TV.  Or gather for games in the separate rumpus room from where you can take in the views of the Tsitsikamma Mountains. The Country House also sports Braai facilities – a private outdoor space with a fireplace for more good times with your fellow guests.

Well Worth Knowing

Ever wondered where polo ponies go to retire? The Country House estate provides a sanctuary for those four-legged stars who’ve played a few chukkas in their time. Why not pay them a visit to say hello?

Popular attractions like Monkeyland, Birds of Eden, and the Elephant Sanctuary are only a 10-minute drive away, with Plettenberg Bay located 22 km from the property.
