Please note: Our review of this property has not yet been added. Watch this space. We're working on it.

As a tailor-made tour operator, we often have to get creative when designing your perfect itinerary.

For example, your travel consultant might add this property to your itinerary if:

Location is a significant factor
It offers a unique feature that will enhance your experience
This is a last-minute booking and room availability is limited
Cost is a factor and you'd rather splash out on another part of your trip
This is a newly opened or refurbished property that we have not inspected yet

When designing your custom itinerary we have much to consider not least of which is the value proposition of every product and service included in your quote. In all cases we strive to give you the best experience possible within your budget so please feel free to ask your travel consultant to share their reasons for including this property in your itinerary.

Set on the banks of the Chobe River in Kasane, just 15 minutes from Kasane International Airport, Chobe River Lodge offers a small and personal safari base within easy reach of one of Botswana’s most wildlife-rich regions.

Only minutes from the entrance to Chobe National Park, the lodge combines a tranquil riverfront setting with direct access to Chobe Game Reserve by vehicle or boat. Both land- and water-based safari experiences are available, as well as day trips to nearby Victoria Falls.

With only 12 rooms – a mix of river view or courtyard suites and 1 family room – the lodge has an intimate feel. Accommodation is simple yet comfortable, with several rooms opening onto private verandas.

The thatched main lodge features indoor and outdoor spaces, with a rim-flow pool overlooking the river, and lawns and shaded seating areas providing peaceful spots to unwind. Massages can be arranged, and dining is informal and often shared; evenings can be spent around the boma or simply enjoying the stillness of the riverfront setting.

Activities

Guided game drives into Chobe National Park offer the chance to encounter large herds of elephants, buffalo and predators, while boat cruises along the river provide a different perspective. The lodge can also arrange day trips to Victoria Falls, as well as luxury mobile safaris in Chobe, Savuti, Linyanti, Khwai, Moremi, and Nxai Pans.rd

Sustainability

This is not a low-impact eco lodge – its size and location mean a larger environmental footprint than smaller, remote camps. However, Chobe River Lodge follows standard responsible practices and makes a strong contribution to local employment.
