Of the Waterberg Wilderness lodges, this one is the budget-friendly choice. The canvas tents are even called their Econo Chalets. That is the 9 double room chalets with en suite brick bathrooms.
It might be basic, but each chalet has it's own small veranda with good views. That's one of the reasons you came here right? For the view that is. The plateau is spectacular.
Everything is run on solar power - enough to run hairdryers, shavers and battery chargers. Jolly good. It's quite rustic and seeing you're in the bush, it's all quite civilised really. There’s a fairly rough path and a few steps to each chalet. Once inside, the essentials are covered.
The natural springs from the mountain provide drinking water and help fill the swimming pool. A good place to take a dip when your tent gets too hot (mostly around midday). Dine at the restaurant. Enjoy the open air patio with a marvellous view.
Plateau hike; Honeymoon sundowner; Rhino drive; Game tracking on foot; Herero cultural tour; 5 nature paths and history trails
